Aram Orbelyan. Discussion on Cooperation between Civil Society and State Institutions

Aram Orbelyan presented the development of concept note of the draft law on NGOs by the team he supervised, issues concerning civil society formation, the positive and negative sides of such processes.

On May 30, 2015, Senior Partner of Concern Dialog law firm and the former Deputy Minister of Justice Mr. Aram Orbelyan, PhD, participated in discussion on Cooperation between Civil Society and State Institutions organized by USAID.

 

Suren Krmoyan, Deputy Minister of Justice; Ashot Giloyan, Head of Department of Local Self-Government of Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations; Areg Savgulyan, Advisor to Minister of Labor and Social Affairs; Marvin Ellis, USAID Mission Director, and representatives of non-governmental organizations.

 

The workshop aimed at promoting and strengthening the cooperation between the state institutions and civil society, and developing new mechanisms to deepen this cooperation.

 

Aram Orbelyan presented the process of concept note develpment of the draft law on NGOs by the team he supervised, issues concerning civil society formation, the positive and negative sides of such processes. Deputy Minister of Justice Mr. Krmoyan highlighted the productive joint efforts with civil society representatives towards the development of the aforementioned draft law as an outstanding example of correlation between citizens and state authorities, as well as of civil society involvement in decision making processes.
