Legal regulations in the gaming sector in Armenia. Publication of Concern Dialog Attorneys in the new comparative guide of Lexology Getting the Deal Through

The new comparative guide on Gaming by Lexology Getting the Deal Through was published in May 2022. Concern Dialog Law Firm’s Managing Partner, Attorney Aram Orbelyan, Junior Partner, Attorney Lilit Karapetyan, and Senior Associate, Attorney Meri Tovmasyan, authored the chapter on legal regulations and practice in the gaming sector in Armenia.


Lexology Getting the Deal Through regularly publishes international expert analyses and reports on legislation and practice of around 150 jurisdictions on different topics of interest. The chapter on Gamin covers detailed legislation, developments and practice in 15 jurisdictions.

The members of the Concern Dialog team presented the regulations, practices and recent legal developments related to the gaming sector in Armenia, including the regulation of land-based and remote gambling, licensing requirements, state control, cross-border gaming issues, including their licensing, as well as the regulation of intellectual property and advertising related to the sector, the specifics of public administration of the industry. The peculiarities of acquisitions (change of control), bankruptcy proceedings specific to the industry, and the regulations of the quasi-gambling were discussed in the publication.


Finally, there is a separate reference to the [specific] labour law issues typical of the gaming sector, including the specifics of calculating working hours and determining wages and related legal risks.
