The Hague court decision on the matter of Lachin corridor is a serious event; however, if it is not followed by further use of that tool by the state, it will become a loss for us – Aram Orbelyan

“It is already two days that the Internet celebrates because the UN international court has passed a decision by which it obliges Azerbaijan to open Lachin corridor.

Obviously, it is a serious event. However, if it is not followed by further use of that tool by the state, it will become a loss for us”, said Managing Partner, Attorney of Concern Dialog Law Firm, specialist in international law Aram Orbelyan during the scientific-practical conference on “The imperative of international recognition of the Republic of Artsakh”, which was dedicated to the 35 anniversary of Artsakh movement.

Aram Orbelyan drew attention to the fact that Azerbaijan later tried to use some opinions that appeared during the court process to prove that according to the Armenian position Artsakh is part of Azerbaijan. He highlighted that especially at such platforms any argument shall be logical.

In his speech the international law specialist also spoke about the prohibition for the use of force in the implementation of the right to self-determination. He also spoke about the matter of territorial integrity.
