Ahead of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Pre-Moot Concern Dialog's junior partner Lilit Karapetyan, as a coach, took part in the pre-moot competitions held in Tbilisi

Ahead of Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Pre-Moot, Junior Partner of Concern Dialog law office, attorney Lilit Karapetyan, as a coach, participated in the 12th Tbilisi pre-moot competitions.

Lilit acts as an assistant lecturer at the French University in Armenia at Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms courses, and this year she is also one of the coaches of the team participating in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration moot. Among the team members is also Lusine Hakobjanyan, who is a junior lawyer at Concern Dialog.

Last month in Tbilisi, the series of events for preparation of the moot included two-day courses, a conference on arbitration, and most importantly the Tbilisi Pre-moots. Within the framework of the courses, the law students were provided with the necessary information on the form and structure of presenting oral arguments during the moot, commercial arbitration practice, which was followed by a conference on arbitration and regional pre-moot.

The five-day event was organized by the Office of General Counse of the US Department of Commerce in the framework of the CLDP in collaboration with the “Arbitration Initiative Georgia”.

Willem C. Vis Moot is considered as the most prestigious competition in the field of international commercial arbitration, the purpose of which is to promote education of international commercial law and arbitration among students.

This competition is said to be the “Olympic Games of International Commercial Law"․ During the competition, the mooties and coaches gain the opportunity to get acquainted with the leading minds of the academic field and representatives of well-known international law firms.

This year, the moot will be held in Vienna in April 2023.
