How Armenian Legislation Benefits Foreign Investors: Insights from Lilit Karapetyan at Civil Law Forum

From September 13 to 14, 2024, the Law Institute of the Russian - Armenian University is hosting a Civil Law Forum to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its Civil Law and Civil Procedure Chair. At the forum, Concern Dialog partner and attorney Lilit Karapetyan participated in a panel discussion on investment arbitration.
She discussed the opportunities for foreign investment in Armenia, highlighting that the legislation fosters a favorable environment for investors. She pointed out that the laws impose minimal restrictions on foreign investment and ensure legislative predictability across various sectors.
The panelists also examined the protective measures offered by bilateral investment agreements, addressing the renewal processes for these agreements and reviewing investment arbitration cases involving Armenia.
