The main legal acts regulating personal data protection are the international instruments ratified by Armenia (for example, the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data), Constitution of Armenia and Personal Data Protection the Law on the protection of the Personal data. In addition to the general framework, several sector-specific laws are laying down the specifics of personal data processing in relevant areas, such as the Labor Code and the Judicial Procedure Code.
